The SDF arrested an ISIS emir in the countryside of Deir Ezzor

The Syrian Democratic Forces announced the arrest of an emir in ISIS, in a joint operation with the International Coalition in the countryside of Deir Ezzor Governorate.

According to a statement issued by the SDF, the security operation was carried out on December 16, 2022, with the support of the International Coalition, in the district of (Al-Kasra), in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, in which a local emir of the terrorist organization ISIS was arrested.

And the SDF stated that the arrested person is "responsible for organizing and operating terrorist cells in the region."

The Syrian Democratic Forces indicated in its statement that the number of joint operations with the International Coalition against ISIS cells "has reached five operations during the last two weeks."

 

She pointed out that "during the operation, a number of papers and documents were confiscated, in addition to means of communication."

A few days ago, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested one of those involved in smuggling ISIS families from al-Hol camp, in an operation in the eastern countryside of Hasakah.

According to a statement issued by the SDF, the security operation was carried out in coordination with the International Coalition Forces and the Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT), on December 13, in the eastern countryside of Al-Hasakah Governorate.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the units involved in smuggling networks of ISIS members' families from al-Hol camp and securing weapons for its cells.

 

And in the middle of this month, the Syrian Democratic Forces announced the arrest of an ISIS emir and two other members in joint operations with the International Coalition in various regions of northeastern Syria (Rojava).

She explained that the arrested "were responsible for securing weapons and ammunition for terrorist cells that were trying to target Al-Hawl camp and prisons," in addition to the anti-terrorism forces controlling "a quantity of weapons and ammunition" that they had.

In early December, the US-led international coalition forces resumed conducting joint patrols with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

 

This comes after the SDF, since October 20, stopped conducting patrols within the framework of this joint mission, due to the bombing operations launched by the Turkish army.
