Death of a Woman from Hemorrhagic Fever in Mosul Despite Treatment Efforts

A woman died in Mosul due to complications of hemorrhagic fever after her health deteriorated despite the medical team's efforts.

An informed source said the woman, about 40 years old, was residing in a residential alley on the left side of the city, and her infection was confirmed through laboratory results sent to Baghdad.

Despite medical intervention, her condition sharply deteriorated until her death.

It is noted that Nineveh Governorate recorded dozens of hemorrhagic fever cases over the past months, a disease transmitted from animals to humans.

Local health authorities have not announced preventive measures or plans to combat the outbreak in affected areas.

The source indicated that the deceased's body will be transferred to forensic medicine to complete procedures, without clarification on whether there are investigations into the circumstances of infection or treatment delay.

The outbreak of the disease in Nineveh; hemorrhagic fever is considered a serious infectious disease requiring urgent health intervention, but lack of awareness and medical services in some Iraqi areas increases the risk of its spread.
