A medical report indicated that the sudden cessation of coffee consumption among those accustomed to it leads to the appearance of temporary withdrawal symptoms, most notably headache, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating, before multiple health benefits emerge.

The site 'Verywell Health' explained that caffeine withdrawal symptoms begin within 12 to 24 hours after the last cup of coffee, peak within 20 to 51 hours, and may include mood swings, gastrointestinal disturbances, and muscle or joint pain.

These symptoms can last up to nine days, but they gradually subside as the body adapts to the absence of caffeine, according to the report, which noted that many people observe improved sleep quality and reduced anxiety levels after overcoming the withdrawal phase.

The report added that caffeine affects the brain by blocking adenosine, the substance responsible for regulating the sleep-wake cycle, which explains the emergence of withdrawal symptoms upon cessation of consumption.

The report advised gradually reducing coffee intake instead of stopping abruptly, while ensuring adequate water intake and sufficient sleep to alleviate symptoms.

Furthermore, the report highlighted that certain groups are more prone to withdrawal symptoms, such as migraine sufferers, individuals consuming more than 300 mg of caffeine daily, and those experiencing stress or sleep disorders.
