Iranian Foreign Minister Arrives in Baghdad on Official Visit

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday morning in an official visit aimed at holding consultations with senior Iraqi officials on bilateral relations and regional developments.

Iraqi media sources said that Araqchi will meet during the visit a number of Iraqi government officials to discuss joint files between the two countries.

The Iraqi government has not yet issued an official statement regarding the visit's agenda or the personalities the Iranian minister will meet.

The visit comes within the framework of ongoing coordination between Baghdad and Tehran on regional and international issues of common interest.

It is worth noting that relations between Iraq and Iran have witnessed notable development in recent years on the political, economic and security fronts.
